When I close my eyes to envision my future, I want to have as much of a positive impact on the world as I can.
That’s why I’ve built this community. By growing an online yoga community, nurturing Facebook support groups, and creating digital yoga & meditation programs, I can give personal attention, and help & communicate to many people as possible.
In my classes, I am my best when I am teaching large groups. I love a consistent group because I can see the growth and improvement in my students over time. I love how we become a beautiful family, learn together, and feed off the energy of the group. It really just brings sunshine to my heart!
For a long time I had this tugging feeling at my heartstrings. I wasn’t sure how to give back because I was still trying to grow my business and make money.
I would say, I’ll give to charity when I’m making <Insert $$ here>. Or, I can’t afford to give any money away right now!
What manifests in our lives comes from our beliefs. If we say the words, “I’ll do this when.…,” then we believe we don’t have it, and we’re chasing something. We create the poverty in our lives. (The universe is tricky!)
It didn’t dawn on me that I was creating this money block until Derek Rydall introduced me to the law of circulation. Have you heard if it?
Here’s how the law of circulation works:
You cannot give away what you don’t have. You cannot keep what you don’t give away.
What does this mean?
This means that you have to stop being dependent on external sources to give you your desires. You have everything you already need within, but you just have to activate it. If you want abundance and wealth, then you need to give it to yourself first.
Then, you give it away. Then, it comes back! Rinse. Repeat.
Once you realize that you’ve had the source within you all along, then you’ll always be able to generate what you need. You can let go of the stress and attachment of chasing something outside of yourself. That’s why it always circulates back. You really need to believe it and be in the right mindset.
When I learned about that, it dawned on me that if I don’t give at all, then I’m just holding myself back from generating wealth. And, I am holding myself back from moving forward on my vision.
Then I thought about my yoga practice, and how all of my progress has been from small steps along the way.
The law of circulation exists in yoga too:
If you can’t do a posture, you still get on the mat and try. That’s the first step – you send that out to the universe. You take the posture daily, feel what it’s like to do it. Visualize yourself going deeper in the posture. Discover over time what areas of your body are tight, or weak, and eventually create more flexibility and strength. You’re filling yourself up with what you need to do to cultivate that posture until you finally do it.
You’re activating it within.
It must be the same with everything. If you want to be loved, you have to fill yourself up with love first. If you want wealth, you must fill yourself up with it.
How do you fill yourself up with wealth:
1. First I asked myself why I wanted wealth. What are the feelings that wealth would give me? I realized I wanted to feel free, secure, and impactful. I would use that money to travel a lot, deepen my yoga education, hire staff and invest in more resources to keep creating home practice yoga programs, but also build yoga and wellness programs to help impoverished communities.
I knew I had to design a life where I filled myself up with the feelings of freedom, helping others, and security. I had to fill myself up with that first, so I started to live like that every day. I had to stop chasing money, and find the source within.
2. You cannot keep what you don’t give. So, the next step was to start giving. I just started giving in small amounts. I don’t push myself into debt or poverty by giving, but I just give what I can.
Sometimes we hold back because we just think it’s not enough. If there were a bunch of people giving small amounts to their favorite charity, then that would help so much!
If you’re ready to make that mindset shift, then I want to tell you about 4 amazing nonprofits that you might like to help.
Thanksgiving is right around the corner, so why not start now?
If you’re looking for somewhere to give that makes a difference and a huge impact, here are a few I suggest:
Free To Breathe: This is a nonprofit dedicated to increasing the survival rate of lung cancer. They fund research, get more people into clinical trials, and educate as many people as possible on how to prevent lung cancer. Every year my family and I do a walk for lung cancer, and we’re currently raising money now! The walk is Saturday November 21st 2015. You can give to my team by clicking here.
Even if you see this post way after that, you can still give to my team up to 6 weeks after the walk. Even if you see this way later than the 6 weeks, you can give to Free To Breathe right here!
Sama Group: Sama group was formed to give impoverished and low income communities education and jobs to bring them above the poverty line. The first words you see when going to their website is talent is equally distributed, but opportunity is not.
Your opportunities really are determined by what family you were born into, where you were born, and who you know. There are smart and capable people everywhere that are not given the opportunities and able to share their talents and gifts.
Sama group is changing this by providing these opportunities through education and awareness, and much much more. I was really moved by this nonprofit when I watched a video on MarieTV, and now feel very strongly about giving to this foundation. You can donate here
Kiva: Kiva is a nonprofit that provides micro-funding. They give the opportunity to low income families and small businesses in third world countries to provide income through small loans. It’s not just for businesses though. If people can’t afford their medicine, clothing, or doctors visits – you can also help with that.
You can start as small as $25 to donate to a cause, and then once the loan is completed, they have to pay it back. Then, you can pay it forward and re-lend your money to someone else! I just started a kiva lending team- like right now.

Pure Vida Bracelets: Want something cool, and also know that your purchase goes to a good cause? Check out Pure Vida Bracelets! The bracelet collection was created to give back to different causes all over the world. They’ve partnered with over 190 charities and are also a member of 1% for the Planet, meaning they donate 1% of their annual net revenue to environmental organizations worldwide. You can see here all of the places they support, and you’ll know exactly where your money is going depending on the bracelet you purchase. How lovely is that?
This year has truly been all about letting go of fear and following my heart. Ever since I opened my heart to giving and receiving, the universe has been supporting me and my dreams. I feel free as a bird, and I am more grateful than ever.
You don’t have to give money, but you can give complements, support, connect people, and educate other people about these causes.
You’re still giving and making an impact because as more people learn about these causes, the more opportunity they have to spread the word and raise money.
Did you give to one of these charities today? Did you give to another one? Did you give another way than money?
Tell me below which one you chose, or another one we should all know about!
Love, Light, Happy Hearts, Big Smiles!
