How Do You Track Your Hydration Goals? Here’s The One Thing You’re Missing….

How are you tracking your hydration goals?

November 29, 2015 By Monica Stone-Thompson 4 Comments

Have you ever hit a plateau in your in your practice, life, or exercise routine? That was the story of my life these last few months. I was feeling low energy and had trouble getting my motivation back. I eventually said enough, and created a list of things I needed to do to get my mojo back.

One of those things was drinking more water. I had a sneaking suspicion that I didn’t drink enough water, and that was confirmed by my new Connected Hydration Bottle with Smart Lid.

Yes, a Smart LID! It’s SO cool.

How are you staying hydrated? Have you heard of a water bottle with a smart lid that tracks your hydration? Check it out here...

I was really excited when the box arrived on my doorstep. I opened it up right away to start using it. It’s just like a regular water bottle, but with a USB connector in the back. The USB cord came with the bottle, but you have to use your own adapter.

No biggie though because I just used my iphone wall charger. You can use your computer as well. The BPA-free thermos just needs to charge for 3 hours, and it’s good for up to 12 days.

Check out the new smart thermos! Tracks your hydration with a free iphone app, or connects to your fitbit!

It has a really sturdy lid, which locks into place. As long as you have it on correctly, it’s spill free.

It Connects With Your FitBit or iPhone App:

The app is my favorite part. You can also connect it with a fitbit if that’s how you roll. I downloaded the Thermos app on my iphone from the apple store, and then answered the questions about my age, gender, and activity to determine my personal hydration goals. I am to drink 123oz according to Thermos.

Watch it in Action:

Okay, so here’s the coolest part. Once your goals are set, the app connects to your smart lid through bluetooth. It determines the temperature of your water. And, as you drink the water, it shows you how many sips you took, how many minutes it took to consume, what percent of the total goal you’re at, and how many ounces you have left. There’s no cheating!

I love watching it in action. You can call me a nerd, but at least I’m a hydrated nerd!

The best benefit for me has been that my energy levels are up. Lack of water was definitely one of the major factors in my fatigue, and this solved that problem.

I’ve always been told to drink 8 glasses of water a day, but I’ve never really tracked it. To be honest, I’m not sure how true the 8 cups a day rumor really is. I’ve heard conflicting things over the years. I never knew how big the glasses were supposed to be, and then I always lost count. Now I know exactly how much I am supposed to drink, and if I need to speed it up a little to fit it in my day.

I love how it easily fits into the cup holder in my car, too!
The benefits of drinking more water are that it raises your energy levels, helps with kidney stones, and more. But, there are dangers to overhydrating! I had no idea... check this out..
In addition to increasing energy levels, staying hydrated has a ton of other benefits:

  • Regulates circulation
  • Aids in digestion
  • Improves overall skin complexion
  • May help headaches
  • May help treat kidney stones
  • Aids in weight loss

Another awesome thing this bottle does is tells you when your suggested hydration goal has been met. This is important because there are actually dangers to over-hydrating. Did you know that? I had no idea!

Symptoms of over-hydrating include:

  • Loss of appetite
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Headaches
  • Muscle weakness and spasms
  • Fatigue.

Do you think you’re reaching your #hydrationgoals each day? Tell me one way in the comments that you think the Thermos Connected Hydration Bottle with Smart Lid could help you?

Lots of Namaste,

That’s neat! I know I’m not hydrating enough for sure. Some days are better than others. But, this is something I’d love to try out.
