Motivation Monday: Instagram Yoga Challenge for June (Summer Splits)

June 2, 2014 By Monica Stone-Thompson Leave a Comment

One of the best ways to stay motivated with your yoga practice is to join one of the many Instagram Challenges. Last month I gushed about Daylene Christiansan, and asked you to join me for the #ashtangachallenge.

And wow, if you guys didn’t impress me. From floating jump backs, building strength in arm balances, videos of binding in pretzel postures, you all made the yoga world an even more inspiring and supportive place!

Now it’s time to do it again with the Summer Splits Challenge!  This time, each posture will be focused on building more flexibility to increase your splits.

Here’s the challenge diagram:

So what area the details?

  • Follow Me On Instagram @theyogimovement
  • Tag me in your posts each day so that I can follow you back
  • Follow @Kinoyoga & @ BeachYogaGirl on Instagram as well so you can see what the postures/modifications are for each day
  • Hashtag everything with #SummerSplits2014
  • HAVE FUN & SMILE

Here’s the post for June 1st from @kinoyoga

These challenges are a great way to:
  • Stay motivated to take practice everyday
  • Build community
  • Support each other in our struggles and growth
  • Inspire others to practice and keep trying

I hope you’ll join me!

Namaste!

Have you ever heard of the 4 seals of dharma? They are the 4 things that make you a buddhist, and all emotions are painful is the first one. That sounds crazy! What about love and happiness? How is that painful? Well haven't you ever had love and lost it? What if you got a brand new car & then got into a car accident right after? Or simply, what if you won an award, and then a few hours go by? The high goes away, right? All emotions lead to pain... but here's why it's actually a good thing... keep reading...
