How To Stop Comparing Yourself To Others (with FREE Journal Download)

The I'm Awesome & Not Scared To admit it Manifesto by TheYogiMovement.com and Monica Stone

August 18, 2015 By Monica Stone-Thompson 4 Comments

Ever notice how we’re always so focused on what we can’t do or don’t have? I do this all of the time.

I wish I was better at prioritizing. I wish my businesses would instantly take off and make tons of money. I wish I traveled more! I wish I wasn’t so soft spoken so I didn’t get interrupted all of the time! I wish this.. wish that… etc, etc .

STOP IT!

The problem is that we just end up focusing on our faults, and this magnifies them. They start to control and define us, and we forget how incredibly amazing, awesome, unique, and beautiful we are!

My friend sent me this Kelly Clarkson quote the other day when I was doing some complaining myself, and I just had to share it with you….

Maybe you’ve been feeling sad. Lost. Stuck. Like a failure. Having a hard time getting out of bed. Maybe your heart’s hurting.

If you’ve been feeling this way, this post is going to help you get out of that negative state.  Or, at the very least, a recipe to pull you out of negativity when you feel it coming on.

I have a project for you (yay projects!). You’re going to have to do it every day, but it’s going to be so worth it!

You’re going to turn these negatives into positives.

This is not a new concept. In fact, it’s been recycled over and over. And over again. But, if you stumbled upon this today, then maybe it’s a sign? Maybe this is what you need right now.

You can keep reading self-improvement books and listening to Tony Robbins videos for inspiration, but if you’re not taking action then you’re probably just inspired for a few minutes. Then you forget.

Am I right? Or, amiright?

It’s SO easy to get distracted.

I know, I’m guilty of it. I even did this Tony Robbins 30 days to personal power program, and he talked about how we all have personal patterns that create suffering. His solution is to create what’s called a pattern interruption. Every time you notice your negative pattern surface, you use your interruption method to push it away.

I had a negative pattern come up that I completely noticed, but did I do anything about it? Nope! You guessed it.

I remember just sitting there in a state of self-sabatoge and pity.

It’s my goal to get out of these states for good, so I devised a plan that’s a mixture of what I’ve learned from Tony Robbins, the Dalai Lama, and Kelly Clarkson.

Since I’ve been doing it, I’ve been waking up with more energy, and feel excited for the day. I also go to sleep focusing on gratitude, so I’m learning to let go of the little annoying things.

Do this with me! I want you to really take action, so I created some worksheets for you.

Your homework is to download the “I’m Awesome & I’m Not Scared To Admit It“ Manifesto.

  • You’re going to list your unique gifts (Like Kelly Clarkson talks about).
  • You’re going to ask yourself morning happiness questions.
  • You’re going to focus on gratitude daily.
  • You’re going to do a daily self-reflection exercise.
  • Then, there’s an optional compassion meditation bonus!

Yes, this takes work. You need to schedule time to do this each day. This is SUCH an important habit to create so that you can begin to improve your own well-being and your relationships!

Tell me in the comments what your unique gift is? Tell me at least one thing!

To Open Hearts and Happy Thoughts,

love monica

Oh how I love this… the world would be a much better place if we could just accept where we are at, and where others are at. Everyone has a different plan in life.

Thanks Liz! I am so glad you liked it. It’s funny how we make up little stories and plans in our head!

Oh my gosh! I am so excited to have found this! I’ve been struggling with comparing sooooo much over the past few months – more so than normal at least.

I just printed this out and I’m excited to get started!
